Terms of Use

In effect since 4 August 2026 · Last updated 4 August 2026

The short version

1. Accepting these terms

By creating a Stovy account you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not create an account. These terms are governed by the laws of Québec, Canada, and any dispute falls to the courts of the judicial district of Montréal.

How we handle your personal information is described separately, in our privacy policy.

2. Who may use Stovy

Stovy is intended for people aged 14 and over who run a home. You are responsible for what happens on your account, and for keeping your password to yourself.

One account belongs to one person. A kitchen may be shared between several people, each with their own account.

3. What Stovy does

Stovy keeps your kitchen inventory, predicts what you are about to run out of, builds a shopping list and suggests recipes.

Predictions are estimates, not promises. They are computed from your own consumption history and become more reliable as that history grows. Expiry dates come from what you enter or from public product databases; they may be wrong or missing. Never rely on Stovy alone to judge whether a food is still safe to eat. Trust the packaging, your eyes and your nose.

Recipes and nutritional information come from third parties. We relay them; we do not verify them, and they do not constitute dietary or medical advice. If you have an allergy, read the packaging.

4. Trial and subscription

5. The Stovy network

Optional, and earned

The Stovy network lets you share photos of dishes with friends. It is not part of the subscription and cannot be bought: it opens once you have collected 150 points, earned by scanning regularly. You can use Stovy fully without ever entering it.

Points reflect regular use. Access closes again if your count falls below the threshold, and reopens when it rises back — nothing is deleted in between. We may adjust or reset a count obtained by circumventing the mechanism.

6. Rules of the network

You keep ownership of what you publish. You grant us only the right to store it and show it to the people you have chosen, for as long as you leave it online. Delete it, and that right ends.

You are responsible for what you publish, and you undertake to publish only content you have the right to share.

Zero tolerance

The following are forbidden, without warning and without exception:

7. Reporting, moderation and blocking

8. Suspension and termination

You may delete your account at any time by writing to us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why.

Closing your account for a breach does not entitle you to a refund of the period already paid for.

9. Availability and liability

Stovy is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and correct, but we do not promise it will never be interrupted, never lose data, or never be wrong. Keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Our liability towards you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the event. Nothing here limits rights you hold under Québec consumer protection law, which apply regardless.

10. Changes

If we change anything material, we will update the date at the top of this page and tell you in the application before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Stovy after that means you accept the new version; if you do not, you may delete your account.
